Geisel Library has study spaces where you can study with friends (First Floor) to extremely quiet spaces to work by yourself (Eighth Floor). There are also rooms that you can book to study with a larger group of people in a private space.
TIP: The very front of the first floor has whiteboard tables and you can check out markers to write on them with! |
ERC Academic Advising can help with four year plans and answer your questions regarding ERC GE's. They have walk-in advising hours and you can also make an appointment.
TIP: There is a Virtual Advising Center available through your TritonLink! You can direct questions from here to either ERC, your major department, or any other department on campus really. |
The Teaching and Learning Commons on the first floor of Geisel has FREE peer tutoring for Math and Chemistry as well as peer writing mentors! Make an appointment on the Writing Hub website for writing tutors and for everything else just come on in!
TIP: On the Writing Hub website you can read bios about the tutors before booking an appointment with them. Find someone who is majoring in the topic you need help with or is from the college that you have to write a GE paper for! |
Every season is midterms season. Sometimes you just need to get away from the campus. LeStat's is a quirky, 24/7 coffee house with multiple locations around San Diego. Take a break from being trapped in the library, grab a cup of coffee and a few friends and study at a new location. Often times a change of scenery can help you focus!

Need help in a specific class? If the Peer Mentors at the Teaching and Learning Commons can't help you, there is more free tutoring through OASIS! They have math, science, and language arts tutoring programs but beware because 1.) you do have to apply to get into the program and 2.) attendance is mandatory unlike at the Teaching and Learning Commons so make sure you have time in your schedule to commit!

Another great place to study you ask? Well check out OceanView Terrace! Locating near Marshall Upper Apartments, across from Pangea Parking Structure is Marshall's dining hall: OVT. Right below OVT is Angela's Space, a quiet place to study alone or collaborate in small groups. This is a great place to study because if you get hungry while studying there is gelato and a pizza station upstairs open until 1AM as well as 24/7 coffee!
