Physical HealthWe have two gyms on campus: Rimac and the Rec Gym which are free for students (AKA your tuition is already paying for your membership)! So go use them! Exercising is not just a good way to stay healthy, but also to relieve stress. One FREE class I recommend is the Student Personal Wellness class that meets once a week for an hour to work out and discuss how you can change your eating, sleeping, and studying habits to best benefit you! I have provided the link below. Check it out!
There are also many Recreation classes you can take but have an additional cost if that is what interests you. Just visit the UCSD Recreation page to learn more. There is also a Student Health Center where you can see a doctor and schedule health services at and I have provided a link at the bottom of the page. |
Mental HealthYour mental health is just as important as your physical health! Stress, anxiety, feelings of loneliness can develop in anyone's mind, especially when you are away from home for the first time and starting college. There are plenty of resources available to help cope with all of these things beginning with CAPS which provides free mental health counseling. There are many other resources on campus including The Zone which hosts Therapy Fluffy events where you can pet dogs to relieve your stress and has yoga classes. Come talk to me if there are any other resources you are looking for.
